Vandalism rears its ugly head again.:

Given our location, WIFI may not be a workable solution. Although it is possible to have real-time surveillance cameras out there, it may be more pricey. We may be stuck with on-site data storage. Still, if someone cleans out the big cabinet, the dollar value associated with damage to the cabinet, and loss of property will exceed the cost of the camera system. Can we continue to afford that kind of loss with essentially no hope of catching the people responsible?  We need to up our game.

FrSky Horus:

The equipment seems pretty amazing for the price.  Makes me wish I didn't have so much money tied up in Spektrum equipment.

How are your baby and wife doing Anthony? Well I hope.

Vandalism rears its ugly head again.:

Well, given the damage and stolen property issues in the past, a couple hundred dollars or more for a good camera system doesn't seem like a bad investment anymore.

We have a very reliable 12 volt power system out there to use, and hopefully we can send the data to the cloud so we don't need to worry about having data storage equipment onsite.  But, if we need to hide data storage, I'm sure we can get creative about it.

Also, I think that I'm going to start flying late in the day, and not always on the weekend. Unpredictable. I"m retired so there isn't any reason I can't do that. I still think that most of the time when we have these problems the folks involved are well aware of our site use patterns.  Any of you other folks who are able to be unpredictable, you might want to try it ( I'm talking about your days and time of day you fly at the field). not when you have your morning movement.

Vandalism rears its ugly head again.

During today's chili fly I noticed a couple of things that indicate we have some unauthorized use on our flying site. I saw what appears to be motorcycle tracks at the northern end of the main runway. In addition, someone has attempted to break into the large storage cabinet. Given the large increase in vehicle use in the area around our flying site property, it isn't very surprising that we'd have someone try it again. Please keep an eye on things when you are out there, and if possible, vary the time of day/week you use the site.

I forget, does the Agwagon have a tow hook? It's been a while since we've talked about that plane. I can't remember what it has for power either.

If everyone shows up who said they will, we should have a good crowd to go with the good weather. It's going to be odd with temps in the 40s, and a bone dry runway. January first?

I suspected there was an AN-2 in there but there were so many changes I couldn't believe it. I'll bet the cruise speed is just blistering now.

Merry Christmas!:

Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you and yours. In contrast to the chaos leading up to today, this has been a relaxed, pleasant, merry day. Ahhh.
