Flying Field Facility Maintenance:

Flew at the field today.  Sunny with just a little wind.

Removed some weeds from south part of the runway and from the pit area.  The runways are in great shape, hard packed and smooth.  Two clean portajohns. Thanks for that.

June 6th Open Fun Fly

All, I have sent out emails to all GJ and Gunnison AMA members for this event. I have also spoken to 5 folks who fly here who are interested in coming. Wayne from Ultra Hobbies will be giving us money for refreshments and will be there. A first for him!! It should be a good day. Hope to see you there.

Field Work Day

A big thanks to Cliff who pounded in 22 fence post while the rest of us flew. He even had enough energy left to fly his wing. With the work done previously putting in the railroad ties and the work done last week, all of the metal posts are up and most of the wire strung. Our field is getting more secure by the week. Now if we could just keep the horses off of the runway!!!

June 25 fun fly

Well, we had a good time flying today. Present were Andrew Weaver and his wife, Randy Arndt and friend Jeff, Cliff, Len, Jim Zimmerle, myself and Don Dubie checking out the CL site for the July 9th Partners' Day. With the help of Cliff and Len, I actually flew without crashing three times! Amazing. But then the wind picked up and I stopped while ahead. Remember that Tues and Thursday nights at 6 pm (wind permitting) folks will be gathering at the field for more fun flying. Also check the post on Partners' Day.
