New sailplane kit

Post

Here is a new sailplane kit from Carolina Custom Kits. It is patterned after the famous Sagitta 900 glider.
Finally, someone has the strength to produce a kit among all the possible lawyer litigation about copyright protection. 37 years to reproduction release is a bit much. It's all laser built, has a new airfoil and is built like a jig saw puzzle. Sounds great. Here is the link from RCGroups.

Sweet. I just found plans for the 900 for free on the web. This routed kit looks like a pretty quick build, and since it's complete, minus hardware, the price isn't really too bad. With an electric motor it'd be just right for us old farts.

Mark will let me know when he's ready and I'll post it when they are for sale. He has to make sure the prototype flies OK, yeah, right! This is the machine I cut my teeth on the slope with in 1984, the Sagitta 900. It thermals like a zephyr, penetrates very well for a sloper, with ballast and with a motor and spoilers, it will be the cats meow for an ALES( Altitude Limited Electric Soaring) contest, if I we ever have one!

Here is another new glider kit from DJ Aerotech. The Chrysalis Lite. It has been designed for the new F3-RES class, Rudder, Elevator, Spoilers. It is very "Lite" and has a V-tail. It is designed to be competitive with the new European gliders and is designed and made here in Ohio, USA! Here is a link to the RCGroups website with all the details.

BTW, if you go to the  RCGroups spot that Randy provided you'll see some posts by Don Stackhouse who did most  of the design work on the Chrysalis Lite. His posts can be an education in model aircraft design. The man knows his stuff.
