I am planning to be out there. Didn't get any LEDs on my foamie, so no night flying for me! I will bring my fire pit that has a screen on top, as long as we are not under a fire ban (don't think we are). I'll bring an Elk London Broil to BBQ & share on Friday night…..

Well my afternoon didn't go as planned, my truck battery was dead and so were the next two I tried. Have one in there that will get the truck going in the morning. I will pick up the post hole digger first thing in the morning and be out. I am sitting out at the field and while it is a beautiful evening, no one is here. (I'm sure Cliff has come and gone, I only saw one set of tracks.) Hope to see people out here tomorrow. :-)

You suppose that folks were not primed enough to let them know the work day was coming off?

Since the email went out 9/17, I don't think not enough notice was the problem. Probably need some follow up closer to the event.. Oh well

A big thanks to Cliff who pounded in 22 fence post while the rest of us flew. He even had enough energy left to fly his wing. With the work done previously putting in the railroad ties and the work done last week, all of the metal posts are up and most of the wire strung. Our field is getting more secure by the week. Now if we could just keep the horses off of the runway!!!

At some point John the fence and gate will take care of the horses. I have spoken to a few of the horse people out there in the past which has resulted in a short term reduction in their use of our property. I noticed yesterday that we actually had a fair amount of storm related damage from the last big one. Yesterday was a beauty for flying.
