Flying at the field

Is anyone going flying tomorrow? I plan to be out there around 10 or so.

Flying at the field

Had a battery/radio problem that will force me to go out on Sunday. Hopefully, I'll get some flying in before the wind and thunderstorms.

It was great today, until the wind came up.

Flying at the field

Took my modified Kadet Senior out for its maiden today. Awesome day. Didn't take the glider, but it would have been a wonderful day for it. The OS 70 Surpass four stroke pulls that 8.5 pound Senior with much more authority than the OS 55 two stroker ever did. It weighs a good bit more though. I like the conversion to conventional gear, but it does not like anything approaching a 3 point landing. Wheel landings only. Have to keep power on almost till touch down. It is going to take a bit more personal experience with it to get as comfortable as I was before.

 should be an awesome flying day. Found a spot on Long Park with a good lz and no brush to tangle the high start.

So where is Long Park?

Sorry for the delay in responding to you Pilatus. Long Park is the broad ridge just north of Paradox Valley. It's between Paradox Valley and the San Miguel River to the north. There was a considerable amount of uranium mining there years ago. There is a good deal of petrified wood scattered all over the surface, most of which is somewhat radioactive.
