Here's a good throwback photo. This was taken at Mike Mclain's house when we received the sign for the flying field (2003). Most of the wives were there. Three of these guys are no longer with us; two moved out of town. Three are lifetime members. The guys from left to right: Mike Mclain, Richard Harding, John Hicks, Rob Duncan, Jim Ferguson, Terry Ryan, Michael Thompson, Ed McBurney, Fred Wyngarden, Dale O'donnell, and Dean Cooper. [br][br]

RR Merlin,,you have heard of the good ole days, well that was great ole days for the club. Everybody that came to the field brought a plane with them to fly. you usually had to wait yor turn to fly. Not a lot of sitting around BSing.

Six of those guys held every position on the Board and served as president at some time. Mclain I think was president when the photo was taken. We'd received title to the properties from Richard and Debra Harding by this time. It was the culmination of a rough few years trying to find a new flying site. I can identify most of the women, but I haven't seen a few of them for so long I know I'd mess up with a few.

Just some photos from our Partners Aviation Day, 2003. One is Leonard Felix from Olathe Spray Service, making a low pass with his Air Tractor. Just after this shot was taken he dumped a load of water. The other is Fred Wyngarden instructing a young Partner with Jim Ferguson's coaching assistance. This was probably our 6th year of doing this event, and is the year before the photo of the Partners 2004 event that is pictured on our home page photo. Note that in '03 we had no facilities in place at all except the runways. [br][br][br]
