Members, We have tentatively scheduled our annual Partners Aviation Day event for September 20th. Due to the weather related turnout at the past weekend's meeting, a vote by the membership was not possible. You have all been sent an email about this proposal. If you have comments or concerns, please post them here, or if you like contact Jim Ferguson at 209-2064, or redtailenterprise@bresnan.net

OK Jim, you can count on me and I will bring a trainer assuming I don't crash both of mine by then. Since I seldom fly them they will probably be ready!

If I'm still here, count me in. Maybe Eric Faber will bring his LT-40 also.

I spoke with Partners representative this afternoon, and due to the popularity of our event, they anticipate that there will be a total of 75 people. This is children and senior partners. In 2012 that is about the number of participants we had. We discussed picking up the tab for food, but Partners indicated that they'd work with us to purchase all or part of the food for lunch. I do not have enough balsa chuck gliders for 35 or so kids. We do have a few stainless steel water bottles that we could use for prizes. I suppose we'll have to call each member to see who will be showing up to help out. If we can't get a decent number of members to make a commitment, we need to know as soon as possible so we can cancel the event as early as possible.

At the last meeting we had three members that said that they would buddy box the kids if I can help 75 special needs kids in 2.5 hours it should not be a big thing.

I still think we should consider calling the membership personally. We are never certain about how many people will show up. We did decide at one of our previous general membership meetings to go ahead and purchase at least some of the food, and then ask the membership to contribute to the cause after the fact, correct? I have to do a bit of flying with my Senior to sort things out, but should be able to work as an instructor this year. I'll see if Ed would be willing to fly the other Senior, which had been his. Usually, we have someone working with the kids to sort out the balsa gliders. I think we need at least one person helping show the kids how things work before they go out to the flight line, and to make sure we don't have kids wandering into the pits. It is always helpful to have a few coaches available for the situations where the kids, and maybe the instructor, need some assistance while flying. Randy, would you call Eric to see if he would be available to help out? It would be wonderful if he could bring the Suckhoi and do an aerobatic flight demo. The guy is good and the airplane is impressive. Randy do you still intend to try to use the Jester for some of the kids? Your Tiger would also be a good addition since you can make some impressive departures. I'll contact Olathe Spray Service to see if there is any possibility that they'd do a flyby. It can't hurt to try. Mike may be willing to do a smoke on pass with the RV, and maybe Felix would consider doing a smoking pass or two with his. I know he races his and with the crop dusting experience he may put on a reasonably good show.

Sure thing, Jim. I'll ask Eric if his Sukhoi-31 is available and if he might be able to buddy box as well. If I'm still here, I'll bring the Jester and the Tiger 60.

Please tell us again the date and time for this. Some of us who are getting along in years don't have the memories that you young people do. Thanks.

Thank you for the information Carl. As far as I know at this time, I will be there to help in any way that I can. I am not an instructor or expert pilot, but maybe I can help in some other way.
