Post Rain Flying Field Access
As of this afternoon, the only portion of the access into our flying site where I encountered soil wet enough to pick up with my truck tires was the road on our property. The flying field is in fine shape. You will notice that the soil on the main access road has gotten very soft, but not muddy. The culvert that Cliff and Carl put in this summer kept the pond from forming on the access road. It is absolutely wonderful flying weather. Also, the hawks are migrating through the area, so you are likely to see more than we've seen during the summer months, some of which are species we see only during migration. Golden eagles were great thermal identifiers today.
Thermals---I need thermals!
