Compass 6HV Ultimate Build

Post

I was looking for a winter project and I finalized it to a Compass 6HV Ultimate. Its a 600mm class helicopter that is a fast and light helicopter. I already own the original 6hv, but the new model has several new perks that the original lacked. This will have a larger boom from 22mm to now a 25mm, and a 700mm class helicopter tail case. Also a helical gears so stripping out main gears should be a thing of the past. The an upgraded direct to swash head design, and a new stiffer/lighter frame. I've read it flies better than the original which is saying a lot.

I have a set of MKS cyclic, and tail servos for it that should be plenty of power for a 600 class. Then I'll be running 2 3000 mah 6s packs with a castle creations 80hv esc. The kit comes with a motor from compass that should make the heli boogey! I also will be running a compass branded IKON FBL controller.

This will be a quick build being a very simple heli so no long drug out build like the Diabolo. The Diabolo is a work in progress but it is a work in progress doing some experimenting.

Here is a picture of what it'll look like, and should be in by the end of next week!

The Compass 6hv Ultimate was sitting by the front door today. I have to say that I've been spoiled by the quality of Henseleit, and Minicopter, but still this should be a very enjoyable build. I'm not going to put as much thought, or effort into this as my other build but still should come up with a top notch end result.

Electronics:
1, MKS servo's that I've used before in an other heli are going to be re-hashed into the 6hv Ultimate.
2. I have a Compass Branded IKON FBL unit that I got awhile back for cheap.
3. Castle Creations Edge 80hv Esc will be used.
4.  2s lipo for Electronics power.
5. Motor will be the stock Compass motor that came in the kit. Its a 4026-505kv motor.

It was a slow start on the build tonight, but I should be well on my way in the next few days. Here is a few pictures of building up the frame sides.

I've been busy lately, but I'm not gone! This is my first free weekend and I'm planning on getting this thread updated. This build is complete now other than the last little setup items. Update coming! I hope to get a maiden on it really soon!

How does the performance of this heli compare to the Diablo?

Thank you for the compliments. I'm hoping to really dig in my heals in this winter on the sim, and get right rudder maneuvers down for spring. I really want to grow this next year as a pilot.

The 6HV Ultimate compared to the Diabolo would be like comparing a small sports car to a big muscle car. The 6HV will be super fast in the air due to its slightly smaller size, but won't have the brute power like the Diabolo. My original 6HV was a crowd pleaser due to its speed and agility. I think this newer version will not disappoint!
