You don't know how many times I've had to try explain what a Twin Otter is. And how Otters can fly and what kind of research could you possibly do do with Otters and if I'm a tree hugger. I'm not kidding. Get ready to answer a lot of really stupid questions Randy. We'll give you special training on the subject. :)

Sweet, Thanks. Yes, it is a different kind of animal. I will find out Monday morning if it purrs or bites.

There are a lot of models made of them, though.

Here's Hanger 9's Twin Otter. Good looking bird.

You mean the big one, or the model?  Wonder if the model is sloooowwwwww too. I'm surprised that Hangar Nine even shows an ARF with internal combustion engines these days.

Both. The model appears to fly relatively fast, in the Hanger 9 videos, I've seen. The DeHavilland style wing has a high aspect ratio profile with a thick airfoil which does not produce good lift until it is larger or flies faster in higher reynolds coefficients. This is merely an observation on my part. Perhaps the model is relatively heavy as well.
Back when this model was first released, most twins were still IC engine powered. The electric motors are easier to set up but are more dependable for multi-engined aircraft.
They sound like turbines as well.

probali $200 in batteries too, just to get that turbine(?) sound.  Ah it's discontinued anyway, so I can't spend five hundred just to get the bare airframe. Darn.

Here's a rare airplane. The predecessor to the B-25.

I'd forgotten about the A-20. Kind of a neat airplane. The view of the lead coming out of that nose must have been frightening.

What model of Mustang was the turbine powered version?
