Flying Field Conditions

I drove into the field for a little flying on Saturday afternoon. At that time there were some snow drifts on the access road that made a 4 wheel drive vehicle or a 2 wheel drive with positraction necessary. The runway was in excellent condition. The snow remains packed from New Years day, and would be flyable with wheels for many models, and certainly for skis. I had a great time.

Has anybody been out to the field to see how muddy it is this week?

I have not, but I did speak to Richard Harding who lives about a mile away, and he said it was very very muddy there. We have a couple of low spots on the water user's road that are likely to stay very muddy for a little while.

Sabin & I went flying today and it was very nice out there. No wind and warmish. The road is not bad but it is a little soft in a couple of areas.

Good news Gary. Sorry I missed you. Do the runways need to be rolled? I suspect we may be over the hump in the freeze/thaw cycle with good soil moisture down deep, so it may pay to start mashing it down. U aren't coming down tomorrow are you?
